Note: The mark “palemoon” aka “Pale Moon” is used in the domain name and/or the discussion under Fair Use and Nominative Use.

This site distributes the codebases discussed below in tarball or 7Z form.

This site has moved to a no-DMCA jurisdiction. For additional remarks, click here.

1. To see the UXP Browser Bundle page, click here.

The UXP Browser Bundle is 9, count 'em, 8 XUL-compatible browsers and other programs in one tarball, buildable with one, count it, one simple CLI command.

The 9 programs include work-alikes for Chatzilla [Ambassador], Classic Firefox [Albus Luna], Newer Firefox [Basilisk], Netscape [Blue Gorilla and Borealis], Seamonkey [Blue Gorilla], and Thunderbird [Icedove, Interlink, and Epyrus].

Ring the Bell. It's a lifetime supply of XUL.

The UXP Browser Bundle includes Albus Luna. Albus Luna is a Classic Firefox (tm) work-alike based on a well-known Firefox (tm) fork.

The upstream fork — PaleMoon (tm) — is an important program. However, it is distributed under unusually restrictive terms and conditions. Albus Luna provides the FOSS community with a derivative that can be modified without issues.

Albus Luna is a pre-Quantum Classic Firefox (tm) fork that you can modify largely as you wish.

Does your startup need its own browser? Wish to make a Babushka browser for your grandmother's birthday? PaleMoon forbids this. Albus Luna says, go nuts, have fun, add a new star to the FOSS galaxy.

2. Thunderbird was the most important FOSS email program of the 2010s. But in 2017 it was essentially terminated. A program with the same name existed but the new one required Rust and didn't support XUL.

It was fine to make a new Thunderbird. But it was wrong to throw away the old one. To address this, the UXP Browser Bundle presently provides 3, count 'em, 3 FOSS Thunderbirds. All three of the Thunderbirds support XUL and none of them requires Rust.

The 3 Thunderbirds are Icedove, Interlink, and Epyrus or Hermopolis. Note: We're in the process of removing “official” branding from Interlink and might do so with Epyrus as well. This will prevent political issues of the type that are linked below.

3. Related codebases. These are obsolete but are provided for historical reference.

* Mypal. MyPal was Feodor2's PaleMoon (tm) fork. It's quite a story for another time.

* Interlink. Back from Limbo.
